This main entry gate renovation project was carried out to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Showa Women’s University’s founding. Based on the designs provided by Architect Yuko Nagayama, an alumnus of the university, our team was tasked with design, structural analysis, manufacturing, installation and lighting work for the gate door.

Remarks
The area in front of the gate is surrounded by a pocket park, and the gate door and walls are made using four-layer, cast-aluminum, lace-like patterns adopting the cherry blossom motif of the official school badge. The gentle light that reflects off the gate after it has been closed for the day is meant to symbolize the school's motto, "Be a Light to the World."
